Job Description

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our engineering firm’s Stormwater Design and Planning Team, focusing on projects in Northern Colorado. Our team works on diverse, multi-disciplinary projects that encompass all aspects of stormwater analysis and civil infrastructure design.

As a team member, you’ll contribute to projects such as Stormwater Master Plans, Technical Floodplain Analysis using 1D and 2D HEC-RAS, Hydrology Studies with EPA-SWMM, Stormwater System and Stream Restoration Design in AutoCAD Civil3D, FEMA Map Revisions, and Water Quality Improvement Design. From assessment and design to permitting, implementation, and construction, you’ll be involved in the entire project lifecycle.

We are seeking candidates with a passion for stormwater management, flood mitigation, and watershed health, combined with expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, and related software tools.

Key Responsibilities:
– Develop innovative water quality treatment systems and design flood mitigation infrastructure.
– Conduct watershed and basin analyses, including precipitation and runoff studies.
– Design storm sewers, detention/water quality systems, natural drainage, and channels.
– Perform floodplain studies and prepare FEMA flood mapping products.

Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with a focus on water resources or environmental studies.
– Professional Engineer (PE) designation or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
– 4-10 years of full-time experience in civil and water resource engineering.
– Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and inquisitive mindset.
– Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulics software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPA-SWMM) and AutoCAD Civil3D.
