Position Overview:
As a Project Engineer, you will contribute to the design, management, and execution of stormwater infrastructure projects, collaborating with a diverse range of clients, including agencies like USACE, EPA, CWCB, MHFD, and other flood districts and stormwater management entities. The position emphasizes civil engineering solutions for stormwater management, flood control, and related infrastructure, excluding potable and wastewater treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities:
– Design and manage stormwater infrastructure projects, including flood mitigation and drainage improvement systems.
– Work collaboratively with public agencies and water-related clients to meet project goals and regulatory requirements.
– Develop technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
– Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control systems using tools such as HEC-RAS or EPA-SWMM.
– Prepare permit applications and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
– Engage in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
– Provide support during construction, including site visits, contractor coordination, and issue resolution.
– Mentor junior staff and contribute to their technical development.

Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field with a focus on water resources or stormwater systems.
– Minimum of three years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with a focus on stormwater infrastructure.
– Actively pursuing a PE license, with the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
– Experience working with clients such as USACE, EPA, CWCB, MHFD, or similar agencies.
– Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, or other water resources modeling tools.
– Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
– Willingness to take initiative, solve problems, and ask questions when needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Familiarity with FEMA floodplain management and flood mapping products.
– Experience with stormwater master planning or erosion control studies.
– Knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting requirements for stormwater infrastructure.
